Know Your EV
Type 1 connector is a single-phase plug and is standard for EVs from America & Asia. It has a maximum charging speed of up to 7.4 kW.
Type 2 connector is a triple-phase plug that can be connected to both single phase or triple-phase electrical systems. It is standard for EVs from Europe and charging speeds can range between 7.4 kW and 43 kW.
Each EV has an onboard charging capacity that limits the charging capability for AC and DC electrical circuits. A maximum charging capacity of 7 kW in an AC charging connection means that the charging speed will not go beyond 7 kW.
